A sun-drenched Algarve celebration, where effortless elegance met the golden ease of a destination wedding.

"I knew instantly when I tried my dress on, and from my family's reaction, that I had found the one." From the moment Sophie stepped into the Halfpenny London store, everything fell into place. She had discovered the brand the way so many brides do — through Instagram, watching others move through their wedding days with an ease she immediately recognised as her own.
THE DRESS
Sophie chose the Philip dress, layered with the moon skirt and Issa shrug — a combination that felt as considered as it was beautiful. With a destination wedding in mind, she wanted a look she could move in freely, yet one that carried the structure and presence the occasion deserved. The Philip, styled this way, gave her exactly that.
What made the look truly her own was how it transformed across the day. For the ceremony and dinner, the full combination — dress, moon skirt, Issa shrug — created a silhouette that felt complete and quietly romantic. As the evening shifted into celebration, she removed the skirt and wore just the shrug, before later swapping it for the Ariel Bow as the party moved to the barn. "I loved the idea of wearing one dress but being able to add and take off accessories to create various looks throughout the day."
One final, deeply personal touch completed the look: her mother's wedding veil. "My parents have been happily married for over 40 years, so I am hoping it brings us the same luck."
THE DAY
The Algarve provided the kind of backdrop that needs no embellishment — soft light, warm air, the natural beauty of Portugal doing all the work. "It felt like a celebration and a destination holiday for all the guests," Sophie reflects. The wedding extended well beyond a single afternoon: a welcome dinner the evening before, the ceremony itself, and a beach party the following day. Nothing overdone. Everything felt exactly right.
