“My experience of finding my bridal look was amazing,” Amy reflects. “Halfpenny London was the first bridal store I went to, and I felt so supported from the minute I stepped in the door.” What could have felt overwhelming quickly became intuitive, as the team guided her through combinations that felt both natural and exciting. “They really listened to my likes and dislikes… I felt so at ease and beautiful.”
“Halfpenny London had shown me what the experience should be like.”
THE DRESS
The look Amy chose for her bid day was, in fact, the very first she ever tried on: the Ellie skirt paired with the Okotan corset and a satin trim veil. “I instantly fell in love with it,” she says. “We compared every other look to this throughout the day, and I just couldn’t get it out of my head.”
Though she hadn’t initially imagined wearing a two-piece, the combination felt immediate and undeniable. “As soon as I tried them on, I knew they were the pieces for me. I truly felt incredible.”
Balancing structure with softness, the corset sculpted while remaining comfortable, allowing Amy to move through the day with ease. “I felt like myself—but an elevated, more confident version,” she reflects. “Effortless elegance, without compromising on comfort.”
THE DAY
Originally from Cork, Amy met Jonathon after moving to London in 2021, where they still live. For their wedding, the couple returned to Ireland, choosing Castlemartyr Resort—an idyllic 18th-century manor house set within expansive grounds.
“We wanted to bring our English friends and family to Ireland and show them our beautiful country,” Amy shares.
Their vision was rooted in timeless elegance, softened with a relaxed atmosphere and a sense of joy that carried throughout the day. It became a celebration not only of their relationship, but of the coming together of two cultures. “The day really felt like a celebration of both English and Irish culture,” she says. “We felt such joy and love from everyone around us.”
