Beautiful Rachel | A Halfpenny London bride
Lovely couple Rachel and James celebrated their love in October last year in a classic black tie event, complete with espresso martinis and jazz.
“We were married in our beautiful thatched village church and opted for an inner-city cathedral like church for our reception,” Rachel said. “Both venues were truly unique and essentially decorated themselves so we wanted the style of the day to align with their beauty and simplicity. It was so important that our many talented friends were part of the make up of the day and so, our invitations, cake, music, food and décor were all made by people close to us, which made the whole day so unique and special.”
Rachel had stumbled upon one of our combination of separates before she was engaged and it stuck in her mind so she decided to make an appointment in our Bloomsbury boutique.
“In other appointments [elsewhere], I’d really struggled to find and try pieces that suited my size and shape and I was unable to visualise what stock pieces would look like in the right size. For me, Halfpenny was so much more than the exquisite dress I left with. The location and interior of the atelier was stunning and everyone throughout the whole process (from the initial appointment to the final fitting) was so kind.
My instant feeling when I arrived at the boutique was relief. To have the ability to select and try on pieces that spoke to both my style and shape made the process so relaxing, enjoyable – and emotional!
Before I even got engaged, I was pretty certain on the Laura top and Maribou lined skirt and it did not disappoint when I tried it on. It felt like an elevation of my existing style and made me feel comfortable, special, and unique. I ended up finishing the look with a cathedral blusher veil because when else will I ever get the chance!?!?!?”
I’m thrilled Rachel’s journey brought her to us and she looks sensational in her choice of separates. Wishing this wonderful couple all the happiness in the world! Congratulations you two!
