Gorgeous India | A real Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride India married her lovely hubby in May this year with a distinctly modern take on a traditional wedding. The couple opted for a natural, rustic vibe with beautiful florals which looked like they’d been picked straight out of a field.

India had quite the adventure in finding her dress. Here is her story in her own words:

“To be honest I had a bit of a nightmare dress shopping at first. I chose a dress too quickly at the first shop I visited & not too long after I started feeling like I had made a bad decision & realised that the dress I actually wanted was nothing like the one I had chosen. I wanted something that made me feel like the best version of me & not just like I’m fitting around the dress. I kept on going back to looking at the Halfpenny London dresses on the internet when I knew I had to cancel my other dress & make an appointment at halfpenny!

I had been stalking the Halfpenny Instagram for a while. I was obsessed with the beautiful delicate details of the different fabrics & how you can change your look by adding different components. I decided to book an appointment & go by myself so I didn’t have anyone’s opinions but my own on what look I wanted to go for. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. The girls in the boutique were so lovely & helpful. I was able to try on all of the different looks I was imagining and was shown how things would look for the bespoke items & I felt like the girls really got me and understood exactly what I was dreaming of!

I had a clear idea of what I wanted before visiting the boutique so knew the kind of look I wanted. I decided to choose the Oliver corset as it was modern & timeless. I wanted two different looks for my wedding day because I’m indecisive and was dreaming of different dresses for the different venues! I wanted to go for the classic bridal look for the church ceremony and for the reception I wanted to really add my own style by switching to a bespoke skirt with the most amazing double bubble sleeves! I just love how you can change your whole look by adding different elements! And of course the veil, I didn’t want to take it off! It was so floaty and dreamy!”

India’s combination of Oliver corset and Christian skirt for the ceremony gave her the nod to tradition she wanted then the bespoke spot and lace skirt and double bubble Marylebone sleeves gave a completely different feel for the evening. India accessorised her look with Tilly Thomas Lux jewels after seeing them sparkle in the Halfpenny London boutique and I’m completely in love with the entire look. I’m so pleased India decided to keep looking for her dream dress and found an outfit she felt truly herself in. That’s all I ever want for my brides, to be the best version of themselves and not follow any trends.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you all the love and luck in your new adventures together.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
