Stunning Sophie | A HALFPENNY LONDON BRIDE
I’m so happy to share the gorgeous wedding of Sophie and Lewis today. They celebrated their love in September last year with a timeless and classic wedding, choosing an elegant colour palette of white, black, green, and neutral tones. After seeing our dresses on social media, Sophie knew she needed to pay a visit to our flagship boutique in London.
“When I first booked my appointment with Halfpenny everything was seamless,” she said. “I instantly felt special. I traveled from Norwich with my beautiful mum for my first appointment and saw the lovely Megan, she made me feel at ease and encouraged me to try many different styles and looks, it was a lot of fun. I knew from what I had seen what style dress I was thinking which I then described… I’ve always wanted something elegant and classic nothing to big. When Megan introduced the Okotan corset and Okotan skirt I was lost for words.
When I put this on I knew it was the one, I felt incredible. I knew this was my dream dress because I felt like me. I felt comfortable, elegant and classy. However what I also loved is that I did think ahead and thought how wonderful it would be once married, on our honeymoon wearing the beautiful Okotan skirt with a gorgeous top for a romantic dinner. Or the Okotan corset with some trousers for a sophisticated look.
When it came to alterations I had the lovely summer look after me. She was fantastic and felt we had very similar views on how to style the dress with certain shoes and accessories. I can’t thank Megan and summer enough.”
Sophie chose a relaxed bouquet in stunning white shades with pale powder blue and dark green foliage mixed in with the blooms, and the flower girls scattered precious rose petals in Sophie’s path for her walk down the aisle.
“My two little flowers girls, who are my nieces, they had a little basket which was filled with my dad’s red roses from when he passed 11 years ago which my mum kept all that time. My mum’s proudest moment was keeping them to use for her daughters wedding day so he was with us. Around my bouquet I had the most beautiful locket from Monica Vinader with a picture of my late dad in which was extremely special as I felt him with me as I walked down the aisle.”
That’s such a thoughtful touch, to honour Sophie’s dad and make sure he was a part of her special day. It’s so wonderful to hear the creative and wonderful ways our brides add extra meaningful touches to their wedding day.
Sophie looked utterly sensational and everyone at Halfpenny London wishes her and Lewis every happiness in their new lives together.
