Stunning Hannah | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Hannah Roeg married Lorenzo Calzavara last July with a relaxed, romantic wedding in Italy, surrounded by stunning views from the dramatic villa.
Hannah and Lorenzo’s engagement was longer than originally planned because of Covid and Hannah’s dress search took her far and wide.
“I went round the houses looking for a dress,” Hannah said. “I found it almost impossible to find something that I felt comfortable in (I’ve never worn a floor length dress in my life). I went to almost every shop in London and found some great dresses, but I was always relieved to take them off and get back into my own clothes. None of them quite clicked for me. The team at Halfpenny were very patient with me and so helpful at making me try things on that I perhaps wouldn’t have considered. I knew there was something hidden in there that would work, and they let me try on far too many dresses to find it! It was a great experience. As were all of my fittings with the team – there was such attention to detail and they made me feel very reassured!
I chose the Cheryl Dress and the Beale skirt. I loved that the halter neck dress was relaxed, very wearable and easy to dance in, it felt perfect for an Italian summer evening. But I wanted a bit of drama for the ceremony and the Beale skirt was perfect for that. It added a layer of texture and movement that really suited the setting and the light. I loved that I could change my look to reflect the different aspects of the day. It was also the first dress of all that I had tried on that I didn’t want to take off! I just felt like myself in it. It was relaxed and simple without being in any way understated. As soon as I put it on I knew it was the right dress – it was easy to move in (and crucially therefore, dance in) and an effortless look but it still made a statement with that great open back and bow. It was exactly what I was looking for, without knowing what I was looking for!”
The perfect wedding outfit exists for everyone. Some women know exactly what they want and some don’t, and that’s ok! She looks utterly incredible and I’m over the moon we were able to play a part in her special day. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds!
