Beautiful Florence | A Halfpenny London Bride
Gorgeous bride Florence married her new husband Conor Duffy this June with a relaxed, Italian wedding surrounded by their friends and family. Having tried on wedding dresses before, Florence hadn’t quite found the one before coming to see my wonderful team in our London flagship boutique.
“I was looked after by Niamh who was so much fun from the first meet. She was helpful and honest but not imposing and gave me lots of options to try. Niamh was also styling a very good friend of mine at the time and I know she also had a great experience. I loved everything about halfpenny.
I had visited two other bridal shops and tried on 15 or so styles in my search for my perfect dress, but knew when I tried on the Oliver it felt right. I had my first baby by emergency c section in Jan 2023 and I was feeling extremely self conscious about my stomach in dresses and my body in general post pregnancy. The Oliver dress was sleek but also hugged me in all the right places. The material is thick and forgiving and whilst I didn’t ever expect I’d wear strapless I felt sexy and back to my old self in this fit. I loved it.
The Ruffle Rose skirt gave me the drama that I wanted on top of what is a simple structure in the Oliver. It gave me the Sarah Jessica Parker/ Italian vibe that I wanted and also an option to have two dresses or looks for my Catholic church service and then my evening party at the Ollastu hotel. No one realized I had the Oliver under the Ruffle Rose and it gave a surprise element in the evening part of my wedding day. It was also nice to take it off to dance as we had a band who we shipped over from the UK for the evening and I didn’t leave the dance floor. I had seen lots of photos on instagram of the Issa shrug worn by other brides and I fell in love with it.
When asking my husband what he thought I’d wear he didn’t ever say the words ‘strapless’ or ‘ruffle’ and I knew it was a look that was unexpected and would wow.”
Florence looked utterly incredible and I’m absolutely thrilled she chose to wear my creations on her special day. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! Here’s to a lifetime of happiness.
