Stunning Ophelia Lovibond ties the knot in bespoke Halfpenny London

Well, this is a wedding I’ve been desperate to share! Dream bride Ophelia Lovibond and her new husband Henry Pettigrew met fell in love while starring together in The Effect at the Sheffield Crucible so it was only fitting for them to say “I do” at Wilton’s Music Hall. Ophelia was an utter dream to work with on her bespoke Dahlia outfit. She also had the most magical “Ophelia bow cape” of dreams.

“My wedding dress wasn’t something I’d thought about prior to getting engaged, but I realised I had quite a distinct idea of what I wanted,” Ophelia says. “Something timeless and elegant, clean and crisp but still theatrical. I think certain images had lodged in my brain: glorious Givency and Balenciaga gowns from the late ’60s, with great big bows and capes. I thought, that’s what I want: traditional and simple, but with a dramatic element.

Kate’s boutique was the only place I went to, my search was over before it began. She’s so kind and creative, and when I was telling her my ideas, she drew it before my eyes. It was so easy – I knew I’d found the person who was going to make my dress.”

I’m beyond thrilled Ophelia chose to wear a Halfpenny London wedding dress. It was such an honour and pleasure to create the dress of her dreams.

Hugest congratulations Ophelia and Henry! Here’s to a lifetime of joy!

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
