Gorgeous Sophie | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride Sophie married her new husband, Oliver, this summer in an intimate and relaxed summer garden party, inspired by the stunning gardens at Barnsley House. I’m head over heels for the stunning florals on display here! The couple chose flowers with a romantic, garden-gathered feel and they look exquisite! Those peonies…

Before coming to see us, Sophie’s journey in finding her dream dress wasn’t going quite as well as she’d hoped…

“Before visiting Halfpenny I tried on some traditional bridal gowns elsewhere but I didn’t feel like any of them were really me. I wanted to feel like my best self and not like I was dressing up as a bride. That’s when I came across Halfpenny.

From the very first appointment my experience was a breath of fresh air. My consultant was kind, knowledgeable and really put me at ease. All of the dresses were effortlessly beautiful and also comfortable. This was something that was really important to me because I wanted to feel glamorous but also be able to move around enjoy all the lovely food and drink we had chosen for the day.”

Sophie chose our Harbour dress, and paired this with the Lily overskirt.

“I knew from the moment I put it on that the Harbour dress was the one, its timeless silhouette felt glamorous, sophisticated and simple. The slight stretch in the fabric made it really flattering and also comfortable to wear. [It was] everything I was looking for, and paired with the exquisite Lily skirt with its floral embroidery felt like it tied in perfectly with our garden theme. The embroidery was so delicate and the flowers almost looked as if they were growing up from the bottom of the skirt.”

A bespoke Juliet Capped Veil with our Lily fabric was the perfect finishing touch to Sophie’s wedding look and looked stunning with her choice of hairstyle.

“When it came to deciding on my hair accessories, I knew I had to find a veil that would work with my hair being fully down. I also wanted to tie in the beautiful embroidery on the Lily skirt with my veil and that’s when I asked if it was possible to do a bespoke Juliet cap veil using the Lily embroidery. I was lucky enough that the wonderful Maddy agreed to work on this for me, and she absolutely brought my dream to life. The veil was exquisite, and tied the entire look together perfectly. I am so grateful to Maddy for working on this for me!”

I’m so pleased we were able to make Sophie’s dream outfit a reality. The couple look so happy together and their joy is captured perfectly by Siobhan Amy Photography.

Huge congratulations Sophie and Oliver! We wish you all the love and luck in the world in your new adventures together.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
