Lovely Vanessa | A real Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Vanessa and her new husband Kurren said ‘I do’ in August last year. The couple only had one goal with their big day: to make it as uniquely them as it could possibly be. Vanessa’s family live abroad so she decided to start her dress search on her own.
“The biggest difference at Halfpenny London was the attention. Attention to detail, my preferences, my attitude towards finding a dress. It was so personal but there wasn’t any pressure. I shopped for my dress alone as my family is back in the States and felt so welcomed, comforted and at ease at Halfpenny. As soon as I got to Halfpenny and met the stylist it honestly felt like I was shopping with a friend (who just happened to be an expert!). We went through everything I was interested in and she pulled some other pieces she thought I might like. She really helped guide me through the fit of each dress. She asked great questions about how I wanted to feel. She quickly understood my vibe and helped me narrow it down to two dresses.
I chose the Lucas dress! I tend to go with high-neck for nearly everything, so as much as I was open to trying something new, I also knew I wanted to feel like me and be comfortable all day. The silhouette was exactly what I wanted, it falls beautifully against the body without swallowing you or feeling like you can’t breathe I also absolutely loved the back detail. The stars were an added bonus of fun energy to the dress. We got married in Shoreditch, so I wanted a dress that not only fit my personality but fit the venue; one that was modern and chic but not too simple. The Lukas dress was so perfect and so me. I topped it off with the matching veil to wear down the aisle for a bit more bridal drama.
I rarely wear dresses, so when I put this dress on I knew it was ‘the one’ since: 1. I didn’t want to take it off, and 2. It didn’t feel like I was playing dress up - it felt like me! I could see everything else come together right when I put it on.”
Vanessa looked incredible in our Lucas dress and I’m in love with the overall vibe of this gorgeous couple’s big day. Vanessa’s bouquet was by Grace & Thorn and she finished off her look with Jimmy Choo heels and a Tilly Thomas Lux Hair Comb.
