Stunning Zsuzsa | A Halfpenny London Bride

Gorgeous couple Zsuzsa and János tied the knot this spring with a stunning, elegant celebration full of personal touches.

“I didn't find true love for a long time,” Zsuzsa said. “I think a lot of us are like that these days. I'm an artist and a woman too, that's how it usually happens, I thought. Then, when I no longer wanted love or a relationship, I met János. I soon became a bride and started to get very excited about what kind of dress would suit me... and what kind of wedding we should have. A very difficult question!”

Zsuzsa initially tried dresses in her home town of Budapest, but ultimately knew she’d find what she was looking for further afield. The couple decided to come to London to find a dress for Zsuzsa and a suit for János. This ended up being one of the greatest joys in the wedding preparations for them both.

“For the first time the kind and helpful Lola was with me and helped with the appointment. I tried on 4-5 dresses in the Halfpenny boutique. I was very nervous because I knew that this was the one time to choose the right dress. I chose the Oliver dress. This is a very clean dress, completely flattering to the body, which János really liked. I knew that I wanted to wear an outfit for the wedding that I would change something about during the evening.

First, I chose the wonderful Manet long cape for the ceremony. This queen cape is simple, and at the same time a very festive accessory and completely transformed the look of the Oliver dress. Browsing the website, I fell in love with the giant organza Eppel headband and knew that I would definitely want to wear it. This statement headband reminded me of the old traditional Hungarian bridal tiara, which is called ‘párta’.

I knew which dress was mine when Lola handed me the Oliver dress and smiled. Then I left the fitting room and János looked at me with tears in his eyes.”

Having spotted our Ariel Bowl in the boutique, Zsuzsa fell in love with it and decided to change her outfit for the evening. She looked utterly incredible in every version of her outfit!

When getting ready, she wore traditional Hungarian bridal slippers from Szeged which were uniquely handmade and embroidered for her by Tibor Sallay. For the wedding itsself Zsuzsa wore two different pairs of shoes from Canadian-German designer Vivikka. A pair of silver and mother of pearl earrings by the German jewellery designer Saskia Diez completed the look.

Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Everyone here at Halfpenny London wishes them all the happiness in the world.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
