There are moments so steeped in beauty and meaning, they feel almost cinematic. For Lana Bruffy (née Rush) — fashion consultant, bride, and daughter of The British Fashion Council’s former CEO, Caroline Rush — her wedding to Travis Bruffy was precisely that: a curated celebration of heritage, love, and personal taste.
Introduced to Halfpenny London through the most trusted of sources — word-of-mouth, Lana's bridal journey began in the heart of Bloomsbury, at the label's iconic flagship boutique. “It was the very first time I’d ever tried on a wedding dress,” she shares. “I went in with zero expectations, but a lifetime of fairytale daydreams.”
THE DRESS
Whilst the fantasy of a ballgown once captured her childhood imagination, Lana’s vision evolved the moment she stepped into Halfpenny’s Serenity corset. Its draped, off-the-shoulder design paired effortlessly with the fluid elegance of the Dove skirt, featuring a daring side-split, graceful train, and pockets. The Palm tulle veil, edged in delicate French lace, brought a final touch of romance to the look. “It was the first look I tried on,” Lana admits, “and nothing else compared.”

“Halfpenny made the entire process joyful, easy, and creatively exciting,” Lana reflects. “I’ll never forget how the team made me feel — like the most beautiful version of myself, but also entirely like me.”
THE DAY
The couple’s wedding unfolded across two unforgettable days; A formal blessing at St. Paul’s Cathedral set the tone, followed by dinner at The Ned. The main wedding celebration was a sun-drenched celebration at The Old Hall Ely, nestled in the rolling Cambridgeshire countryside. “Travis is Texan, so it was important to me that we honour both our backgrounds. This wedding was a love letter to Britain and everything I adore about home,” says Lana.
Lana grew up immersed in the world of British design, a legacy that quietly informed every stylish, meaningful detail of the day.
Featured in Vogue, Lana and Travis’s wedding stands as a testament to personal style, British craftsmanship.
