Beautiful Emily | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride Emily married her love, Sebastian, this April in a vintage inspired wedding in their local village hall. A lavish big day isn’t their style and the former schoolhouse lovingly decorated with bunting, stacked old suitcases and bunched wildflowers in beer bottles suited them down to a T. Emily is British and Seb is polish, so they incorporated traditions from both of their cultures throughout their day with delicious Polish vodka, and local, homemade food. Just how they wanted it!

Emily’s search for her dream wedding dress brought her to our incredible stockist, Amare in Staffordshire.

“I’m very much a less is more kind of dresser, sometimes adding a bit of flare. Halfpenny London was very much that for me. I could keep it classic and simple and add flare if I wanted to. Being a London based designer was also a big win for me. London has my heart and now, so does Halfpenny.

We arranged our wedding 5 months after we got engaged so it was all very quick. I’ve loved Halfpenny from afar so knew I had to try the dresses. I lived in London, but I wanted my mom there. I found [Halfpenny London stockist] Amare near her, and Lyndsey at Amare gave us the most wonderful bridal experience. Memories of me and Mom on that afternoon will be cherished forever. Lyndsey is creating so much more than selling dresses, she’s giving people beautiful moments. Being a bigger busted/hipped lady, I of course had the usual apprehensions of dress shopping. I was never made to feel anything but fabulous.

I’ve never been a girly girl, much to my mom’s dismay, I’ve never wanted to wear diamonds and pink. As soon as I tried the Victor dress, I felt sexy but classic and mom loved it. An instant yes. Once I tried Dion for the scoop neck, I knew that was it. My mom really wanted me in a veil, but I’ve got cropped hair, it just wasn’t my style at all. The Campagne cape gave me the veil vibe without the veil. It really set Dion off. Looking back now I LOVE LOVE LOVE the look. The duchess satin of the Dion dress is just a dream isn’t it! As a curvy girl, it hits and hugs all the right places. I think when you try Halfpenny on, you know Kate has designed with every bride in mind.”

I’m thrilled Emily loved her gorgeous look! She looks stunning and her final words make me so happy as our mission is to make every woman feel like the very best version of themselves. Emily completed her look with a freshwater pearl bracelet, Valentino shoes and a classic red lip - which we all know is a Halfpenny London favourite!

Huge congratulations to Emily and Seb! Everyone at Halfpenny London sends their love and we wish you many, many years of happiness.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
