Beautiful anna | A Halfpenny London bride
Newlyweds Anna and George celebrated their love earlier this year with a relaxed, intimate wedding at Crockwell, a family-run venue which the couple took over for the entire weekend.
Anna was nervous about shopping for her wedding dress but she needn’t have worried as my team of amazing stylists were ready to welcome her with open arms.
“I had a fabulous time at my first appointment and was really put at ease,” she said. “Being plus size I was nervous as I’d heard a lot about bridal sizing being very non-inclusive or there being separate ranges in plus sizes, but I had no reason to be worried as there was a great range of sizes in all styles. I was encouraged to try on a huge variety, including things I wouldn’t normally have tried. Both my styling and fitting appointments filled me with confidence about my choice and my body too and I loved being able to mix and match different styles to find the perfect combination. Lola was a great hype-woman and Summer made all my fittings really easy and she has such great attention to detail.
I fell in love with the Ash dress on the website but never imagined I could pull it off until I tried it on. I’d originally tried the Mayfair skirt with a few other styles. We made some pattern changes to the straps to they were thicker but pleated them at the bust which was a beautiful detail. When I put it all together it felt like finishing a jigsaw – the whole look was glamorous and elegant but playful. I knew it was ‘the one’ by the way it made me feel when I looked in the mirror and the way it felt. The fabric felt really luxurious and comfortable, had beautiful weight and movement. I just couldn’t stop smiling and complimenting myself & I’ve never felt that way in an outfit before so I just knew.”
Anna looked utterly incredible on her big day and I love how blissful she and George look together. Huge congratulations to this gorgeous couple! Here’s to countless years of happiness.
