Beautiful Lauretta | A real Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Lauretta and her husband celebrated their marriage in June last year. Their big day was a classic English summer wedding with a beautiful church service followed by a marquee reception.
Lauretta had mixed experiences dress shopping before coming to Halfpenny London where she settled on the wonderful combo of the Maribou skirt & Laura top.
“Halfpenny London was sublime experience. For one, the shop is divine and the gorgeous environment to be in – it felt personal and intimate. I didn’t feel rushed to make a decision – but instead, encouraged to try lots of different styles, variations and options. I really felt like Katie listened and interpreted what I was looking for – helping me to whittle down the options whilst still giving me the chance to try different things. All of the girls who helped me at all my appointments were so knowledgeable and were able to help me understand what the dresses would look like when they were fitted to me. I loved all of my appointments and all the girls were totally wonderful.
The Maribou skirt & Laura top felt totally me. Something classic and timeless but with a little bit (or rather a lot) of something different and special (and definitely unusual). Whilst I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, I had always loved the idea of having a dress with a super low back and the Laura top just has the most beautiful open back with the most incredible drape. I wanted something that I could dance in and that wouldn’t be too big and create a physical distance between me and Harry or our guests. Despite trying on so many different dresses and variations, I kept coming back to the same combination. I felt so comfortable and confident in the dress which was so important to me – I wanted to feel like the best version of myself on the day and I knew this dress would do that.
Amazingly, when I was going through some old phone photos just after I had made my final decision, I found a screenshot of the dress which I had grabbed from Instagram (I’ve followed Halfpenny for years, always loved weddings and fashions) one whole year before I even got engaged – I didn’t remember it when I then went to the store, but for me, this just confirmed my decision – it was like fate!”
I absolutely love that the image of Lauretta’s wedding outfit had been saved on her phone for ages before she chose. It certainly feels like fate to me…
Lauretta completed her look with a simple, single tier, chapel length veil and a constellation hair slide set from Anthropologie. Her flowers were seasonal British blooms in soft pinks, blues and whites with lots of eucalyptus, hand-tied in a loose bouquet with flowing ribbons.
One of the best parts of my job is seeing the pictures from the day and these stunning images by Coralie Monnet captured the day perfectly. I’m so pleased Lauretta was able to find her dream dress at Halfpenny London. Huge congratulations to the happy couple!
