Lovely Lucy | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Lucy and her beau tied the knot in September this year after having to postpone their day not once, but twice! After originally imagining a DIY farm wedding, they decided to totally change the venue to Aswarby Rectory, a beautifully understated rectory in the English countryside. The wild greenery and nude floral arrangements, alongside low lighting, flickering candles and steamy windows matched perfectly with the couple’s rainy September wedding and they loved the romantic atmosphere it created as everyone snuggled inside to enjoy live music humming through the old rectory.
Lucy chose our Oliver Corset and Peter Skirt bought from one of our wonderful stockists, Amelia and Alice in Suffolk.
”I was really looked after and was spoiled for choice with the Halfpenny selection. Every dress felt incredible on and I loved the flexibility of mixing and matching skirts and tops to find the perfect silhouette for my figure. I went in thinking I would buy the Daffodil dress but as soon as I tried on the Peter Skirt it was love! I come from a career in textile design and so the fabric was really important to me - the Peter skirt was perfection with its layers of beautiful silk and the gorgeous hem detail. I loved the simplicity and cleanliness of the Oliver corset - I never imagined myself in strapless but this piece is so special and made me feel instantly like a bride. I tried on a few things after - still Halfpenny, but I knew the Oliver corset and Peter skirt was the winning combo - elegant and classic and something I knew wouldn’t date.”
We love Lucy’s choice of outfit! She looked incredible. She completed her look with Zimmermann shoes and a veil from Sash and Veil, hand embroidered with ‘Forever and a day’, a phrase she and Jack have always used when signing off cards to each other.
