Lovely Emily | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride Emily and her new husband Russell said ‘I do’ in December last year. The couple and their guests enjoyed a stunning destination wedding in Antigua, celebrating at the Curtain Bluff hotel which was founded in the 1960s.

“We married on the balcony of Bluff House, the home of the hotel’s owner, Chelle Hulford – a total icon in Antigua. And then we had a very relaxed reception on the beach – with a fire pit and a BBQ and a fabulous local band. Russ is a kiwi so we had to keep this part very chilled!”

Emily’s quest to find her dream wedding dress didn’t go quite to plan at first but I’m pleased to say the Halfpennys turned that around when she visited our boutique in Bloomsbury.

“It was nothing short of magical. Just rows of tulle and silk and organza, sequins and lace. I was totally overwhelmed. And the selection the team had organized for me to try was just beautiful. I was made to feel so special and so beautiful.

I loved the idea of a classic shape but then something that felt a little more quirky or couture. I tried on a few really simple options that I absolutely loved – some simple A-line skirts and they were gorgeous. I wasn’t meant to try on the ruffle rose skirt but I asked to try it and I am so glad I did – because I was instantly obsessed. It felt so fluffy and romantic and completely different to any of other dresses that I’d seen – a combination of feeling quite traditional but then a little high fashion at the same time. I also went for a veil, which I recommend every bride does!”

Emily looked incredible on her big day and I’m thrilled she found the perfect outfit with us. Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you all the love in the world.

Love,
