Gorgeous Rosalind | A real Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Rosalind married her wonderful hubby Jake in a super fun, relaxed wedding at Jake’s house in Ireland. I’m so in love with these images by photographer James Frost. Look at that coastline!
“I went to one very traditional bridal shop and knew it wasn’t for me. But it was a good experience to have, when I found Halfpenny I knew I would find the perfect one! It was a lovely experience, it was a breath of fresh air walking into the boutique. Sally was getting as excited as me about different combinations of pieces. It was incredible to see all the beautiful fabrics and textures of all the dresses. We felt so relaxed and welcome, I didn’t want to leave! I always saw wedding dresses as a uniform, which I never wanted to wear. The brides personality just doesn't show with so many dress, but at Halfpenny the dresses had so much personality and were so individual, I really felt like myself when wearing them.”
Rosalind chose a modified version of our Breeze dress for her big day, choosing to add straps.
“It was a really hard choice, and I’m even now still thinking about some of the other options, but I ended up choosing the Breeze dress. It was my second or third appointment and I was with my Mum. She cried when I put that one on, and had not done that with any others. It was the original dress I had seen when first finding Halfpenny online so the reason I booked an appointment. Although I absolutely loved the other separate pieces and I never ever would have thought I would go for a big train or dress at all, but when I put it on, I knew this would be the only time I would wear it, so why not go big! And it was so swooshy! The dress was fun, the fabric was so gorgeous and sumptuous, and most importantly it had pockets! As we were having an outdoor wedding I loved that it was shorter at the front, it was so easy to walk in on the grass, and I knew I would be able to dance in it… and oh did I dance a lot!”
