Beautiful Laura | A Halfpenny London bride

Newlyweds Laura Fowle and Daniel Beyer tied the knot this summer in an English countryside wedding.

“The backdrop was a very old stone Cotswolds house with gorgeous views,” Laura said. “We wanted to work with the aesthetic of the venue so used meadows, wildflowers and classic timeless styling to work coherently with what was already a beautiful setting! I work in sourcing and styling antiques and interiors so I was very excited to draw on this for our day.”

Laura had visited some other boutiques before coming to Halfpenny but had not yet found The one.

“I was finding that dresses I thought I would like weren’t looking how I thought they would on me! I also felt like I was missing having the dream ‘experience’ and hadn’t felt it just yet. I had a high expectation in my mind of how dress shopping would be and I feel it wasn’t until I went to Halfpenny that this was achieved!

We met Niamh on my first appointment and we all just loved her. She made us all feel so welcome and at ease, she instantly felt like one of the girls! Walking into the shop I was giddy with excitement seeing all of the fabrics, textures, frills and ruffles. It was incredible. I had the tummy feeling immediately that my dress would be here somewhere! I couldn’t wait to try them on. Instantly I felt that Niamh understood (perhaps more than I did!) what I’d like and what I should try. I’d seen so many different combinations online prior to coming it was a hard job knowing where to start, but Niamh was fantastic at styling and pairing the pieces beautifully.

I’d seen the Cheryl dress prior to my appointment and knew I had to try it. It wasn’t the style of dress I’d thought I’d wanted initially but as soon as I’d put it on it felt just ‘right’. It’s hard to describe but I felt so comfortable and myself in it right away. I loved the open back and the beautiful bow. Niamh had suggested pairing it with a skirt as well, when I saw the Moon Skirt… Oh. My. Goodness. I was blown away. The drama of the long train, the gorgeous ruffle on the hem. It was incredible.

I knew this combination was ‘the one’ when I came back for my second appointment. I had initially come out of the dressing room in just the Cheryl dress and my Mum and Nan both burst into tears! Niamh then popped the Moon Skirt on top and then I was in tears too! It felt so special, it had the low back but the gorgeous drama of the sheer skirt. I was completely in love! It felt absolutely me. I could also instantly imagine it in the setting of the wedding, the long train on the skirt flowing in the wildflowers.”

I adore seeing new combinations and love how brides take my pieces and make them their own. Laura looked sensational in the Moon skirt and Cheryl dress. It was truly the perfect choice for her.

“I paired my outfit with pearl earrings from Aligheri. I love her as a designer and knew I wanted to wear something of hers on the day. The earrings were classic but had that Aligheri organicness to them which I just loved. I also wore a very special gold and diamond bracelet gifted to me by my Nan, it had once been hers. Having this special sentimental element to the outfit was very important to me! The flowers were in a meadowy wildflower style, muted natural pastel tones were a theme throughout! Our wedding bands were made by jewellery designer Genevieve Schwartz, she’s a dear friend of ours and this made them all the more special. My shoes were by Magda Butrym - the most glorious sparkly tie ankle heels I’d ever seen! (They will be treasured forever!”

Huge congratulations to the lovebirds! Everyone at Halfpenny London wishes you every happiness for your new adventures together.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
