Beautiful Hannah | A Halfpenny London bride
Gorgeous couple Hannah and Nadia Tyler celebrated their love in October last year. They planned their wedding full of personal details and lovely touches that really reflected them as a couple.
“We kept the wedding simple but threaded pockets of our personality throughout the day,” Hannah said. “Our friend and East London drag king acted as our celebrant, we wrote the entire ceremony ourselves, replaced the traditional first dance with an opening DJ set and my granny made the wedding cake - my favorite childhood traybake. Of-course, we had plenty of tequila shots (maybe too many!), cocktails, and pizza to keep guests happy.”
Hannah never wears dresses so wasn’t sure what to expect when looking for a wedding dress at our London flagship boutique.
“I don’t wear dresses usually so I felt quite anxious about what to expect, but from the moment I walked into Halfpenny London, I was met with friendly faces who genuinely cared that I found the right dress. The stylist kept me chatting and always made sure I felt comfortable. I never felt that I was being rushed or pressured to make a decision in the fitting and left with a huge smile on my face. I chose the Max Dress because it was simple but absolutely beautiful - I’m a sucker for anything high neck and backless. I then chose the Campagne Cape as it bought more attention to the back of the dress and made the overall outfit a real ‘wow’ statement. There is no way to describe when you ‘just know it’s the one’. I’m a very casual dresser and the Max Dress just felt perfect. The fit, style and silky material made me feel like a goddess but most importantly, I still felt like me in it.
Another reason I chose the dress was because I knew I wanted to re-wear it after the wedding. I’ve now shortened the dress and have worn it a couple of times already. The cape and the leftover material from cutting the dress is being made into a deep-v crop top and a see-through blouse which I can wear with jeans and boots. It’s amazing to have a dress you can keep wearing and feel special in after your big-day.”
I adore that Hannah has been able to enjoy wearing the pieces again and again. Every time will bring back memories of this special day. How wonderful!
