Newlyweds Alex and Tony married in a beautiful English countryside setting in the summer of 2023, beginning the joyful celebrations in a traditional church, followed by a reception at Alex’s family home.

Alex started her dress search at our Bloomsbury boutique and soon fell in love with the collection.

“Halfpenny London was the first place I visited, and I knew I needed to look no further!” Alex said. “At my first appointment the stylist was fantastic at encouraging me to try on lots of pieces in different styles and silhouettes. I thought I wanted a slip dress shape but right at the end of our session I tried a corset top and long skirt combination for comparison and absolutely loved it.”

“The look was very comfortable and non-restrictive, yet I felt totally secure, and it even gave me a waistline.”

“I chose the Dove corset for its beautiful draping and long ties; worn off-the-shoulder for the ceremony and tied into a strapless shape in evening, perfect for dancing. We paired it with the matching Dove skirt in the same gorgeous glossy Duchess satin, with elegant pleating that flowed into the side split, and long train that felt very special. The look was very comfortable and non-restrictive, yet I felt totally secure, and it even gave me a waistline. I also knew at the time that this was one of the newer Halfpenny styles, of which I was one of the first to order, which felt extra exciting.”

During Alex’s appointment she “couldn’t stop swishing!” and instantly knew this was her dream dress. We are so thrilled that Alex chose to become a Halfpenny bride, she looked incredible in the Dove corset and skirt.

“My great friend and talented florist Emily did our flowers, which included our spectacular bouquets. I wore matching blue topaz cross earrings and necklace from Freya Rose, and pleated bow heels from Loeffler Randall. For the evening I chose statement earrings from Christie Nicolaides, silver metallic heels from Russell & Bromley, and I swapped my cathedral length veil sourced by mum, for a large hand sewn pearl bow from Jennifer Behr.”
