Beautiful Ali | A Halfpenny London bride

Beautiful bride Ali married her new husband Tom in August last year. Their wedding took place in a stunning olive estate on the Ionian Island of Kefalonia, perfectly capturing the Greek old world charm with a relaxed, al fresco celebration.

When it came to her wedding dress search, Ali had a chic, minimalist look in mind.

“I visited a few different designers and boutiques prior to visiting Halfpenny but came away from all of them feeling a little deflated. Nothing had felt just right or made me feel the way I wanted to feel. My friend Emma suggested Halfpenny and as she has impeccable taste I trusted her and made an appointment right away…the rest is history!

My first appointment was amazing and all the dresses I saw felt so much more elevated and high quality than anything I had tried on before. I knew I was in the right place. My Halfpenny stylist was great at listening to what I liked and making helpful suggestions while also just letting me enjoy the experience. I loved the fact that Kate’s collections have so many different pieces for layering and creating new looks – the possibilities were endless! So much so that I came away from my first appointment knowing that I was definitely going to be leaving with a Halfpenny dress, I just needed to work out what look I wanted to create the most, while staying true to myself. When I worked with the team to make a custom capelet, I knew I could have an amazing and unique set of looks that would make my heart sing.”

Luckily, Ali was able to narrow it down and eventually chose our Cheryl dress in addition to her capelet.

“I chose the Cheryl dress because it’s so timelessly elegant and chic. I wanted something simple and minimalist, but which still felt special and luxurious, and the gorgeous silk material, low back, and subtle train were just stunning to me. Everything about it felt right, and importantly, I felt amazing in it. I also knew it would be perfect under the August sun in Greece and would look beautiful against the backdrop of the olive grove. I hadn’t planned on wearing a veil but when I tried on the long veil it just made the look feel complete. So, I wore this for the ceremony and I loved how it added some drama to what was already a very intimate and emotional ceremony.”

Ali changed her outfit for the evening by adding a capelet, which is our Maple from Daydreamer, custom-made in the Beale fabric. I love that she chose this fabric which was more evocative of the natural and organic theme of her wedding.

Ali looked utterly sensational and this location is giving me itchy feet… Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing you every happiness in your new adventures together.

Love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx
