Beautiful Michaela | A Halfpenny London bride
Gorgeous couple Michaela and Daniel tied the knot in July this year. They chose a rainbow colour scheme, partly down to Michaela’s obsession with them and also because they felt it would create a happy, magical, and fun mood, particularly after the last 18 months everyone had endured.
Michaela’s dress search led her to our flagship boutique in Bloomsbury and I’m thrilled she ventured here to experiment in our dressing up box of dreams.
“Nothing else compared to my Halfpenny experience, which was on my radar quickly after getting engaged. I knew I’d find my dress there as soon as I came across Kate’s design online. I was on a mission when I first came into Halfpenny, so much so that I booked to come back again a week later because I wanted some more time to mix and match different pieces, and to bring some more of my bridal party with me to help me decide. The team made me feel like nothing was too much trouble and the Halfpennys really went above and beyond to find the right pieces for what I was looking for. “
Michaela settled on the combination of our George skirt, Dita corset and Daniel top. A stunning outfit for the ceremony, then she had the choice to remove the Daniel top for the evening celebrations.
“My sister spotted the Daniel top as soon as she walked through the door and thought it would be perfect for my wedding ceremony. I waited until I had found my dress before trying it on and everybody loved it. It made it even more special that the top had coincidentally been named “Daniel” which felt like fate as my husband is called Daniel too. I’d seen the George skirt on Instagram and loved the shape of it, I was determined to make it work and tried on different complimentary pieces to wear with it until I found the right one. My mom, sisters and sister-in-law all got emotional and said it was the one as soon as I stepped out in it. I loved how it fitted and the bonus was that it was all super lightweight and easy to wear, which worked extra well given it was a heatwave in London at the time of the wedding.”
