Beautiful Tara | A Halfpenny London bride
Beautiful bride Tara and her new husband celebrated their love this August. The couple described their day as a romantic English affair, full of wild flowers, soft neutrals and lots of sentiment.
“Almost every aspect of our wedding had a little sentimental nod and that’s what was so important to us.” Tara said. Weddings are such a great opportunity to add little personal touches so I love how the couple embraced this with such care.
A romantic English wedding needs a dress to match and Tara found it in our delicious Mayfair gown with its silk organza ruffles.
“I had always known I wanted to be a Halfpenny bride as I felt Kate’s beautiful creations encompassed everything I wanted to be on my special day – a beautiful bride whose dress had that nod to fashion. I never visited anywhere else! Halfpenny London was the first dress shop I had been to, and I found my dream dress on my first appointment. The whole experience at Halfpenny London was utter magic. From start to finish. Stepping into it was bridal heaven…
On my first appointment, I had met the lovely Hollie who helped me find my style. I tried on a fair few dresses, but nevertheless, Hollie was brilliant. She was so patient and kind. She could read my face like a book and knew instantly what I felt like a million dollars in, and what I was on the fence about.
I had asked to try on the Mayfair dress as I’d seen it on the Halfpenny Instagram and instantly fell in love. It was the last dress I tried that day and it definitely did not disappoint. I went with the Mayfair dress as I knew I wanted romantic, but also sexy at the same time! The way the dress moved was just so elegant and I knew it’d be the perfect dress for my wedding day.
I knew it was my dream dress when I didn’t wanted to get out of it. It just felt right and most importantly, I still felt like me. I didn’t feel like I was playing dress up and pretending to be someone else. I was still me – but the best version of me and I felt incredible.
As we were getting married in our school chapel, I wanted a ‘traditional’ dress in the sense that I’d dreamed of as a little girl - full of lots of fabric and drama! The Mayfair dress is exactly that in my opinion, but a lot more refined and fashionable. It was the perfect combination.”
Hearing brides talk about how they felt like the best version of themselves is the best feeling in the world! That is my calling in life and every member of the team shares the passion for making women feel amazing. I’m so proud and unbelievably grateful we’re able to do this for so many wonderful women.
