Beautiful Briony | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Briony married her new hubby Mark in December last year. The couple wanted to celebrate both their backgrounds so chose to be married in an English style cottage garden at Lion Gate Lodge in the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney followed by a reception at the Quay Restaurant on Sydney Harbour.

“The English garden was a nod to Mark being English and I was born and lived in Sydney until I moved to the UK to be with Mark. Sydney Harbour was also an opportunity to show Sydney at it’s best to our friends and family who had travelled to celebrate with us. It was relaxed but also elegant and was a great party with lots of time for dancing.”

Briony knew she wanted something ‘a little bit different’ for her big day and wasn’t having any luck. Our boutique was her third and final destination – definitely third time lucky!

“[My appointment] was 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon after a particularly stressful day at work. It was just so relaxed and informal that I knew instantly I wanted to buy my dress from Halfpenny. I tried on a number of different styles and combinations – I loved the Maribou skirt but wanted it full as opposed to A-line and the Halfpennys said that was possible with the addition of the pewter waistband which added some ‘bling’. The Daffodil top was flattering and matched the skirt perfectly. I walked out so happy and couldn’t believe I had to wait 6 months until I could actually try it on again!

I loved the fabric of the skirt in particular – it had the wow factor because of the feathers and I’m known for my love of sparkle and sequins so it was just perfect. I could not wipe the smile off my face and was just desperate to get to the wedding day so I could wear it. As my mum and my bridesmaids were in Australia they didn’t get to see me in the dress until the actual wedding day – this made it extra special as it was somewhat a surprise to them too.”

Briony completed her look with a crown and earrings from Tilly Thomas Lux, Jimmy Choo shoes and gorgeous flowers by Red Fragrance Floral Design to match the couple’s pink and rose gold colour scheme. She looked absolutely epic on her big day and I’m so thrilled we were able to play a part in her wonderful day. Wishing the newlyweds every happiness in their new lives together!

Gorgeous Leanne | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny2 Comments

I was thrilled to see beautiful bride Leanne’s wedding featured over on Love My Dress. Leanne had quite a journey in finding her dream dress… Her Halfpenny London Ivy skirt and Gordon top combo was actually her second wedding outfit. She’d had the first made by another designer but 10 days out from the wedding decided it wasn’t right for her so came to us instead. We pulled out all the stops to get Leanne’s outfit made in time for her big day and all that effort paid off as look how happy she is!

Read more about her story and see the full gallery over on Love My Dress.

I do love a happy ending! Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Lovely Lilli | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny3 Comments

Beautiful bride Lilli and her new hubby Ross tied the knot in September last year. They flew to Italy for an incredibly romantic and whimsical elopement.

Lilli and I actually have a personal connection through one of my friends so when I heard she was getting married I was delighted to help her find her dream dress. Lilli wanted a real fairytale moment and the pairing of the off-the-shoulder Daffodil dress and Dita Dandelion skirt ticked all the boxes.

“As we chose to elope in Italy I really wanted to feel like a princess so pairing the two pieces together represented that perfectly. I then had a reception in California where my husband is from where I wore the skirt and one reception in Vancouver where my family is from and wore the dress. It was so special to wear all of them for each occasion.”

I adore how Lilli changed up her outfit for events surrounding her wedding. It’s one of the things I love about creating separates, that brides can be so versatile and do their own thing.

Lilli is radiant in these beautiful images by Gabriele Fani Photographer and that stunning scenery is giving me very itchy feet...!

Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish them every happiness in the world.

Beautiful Chloe | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny2 Comments

I’m not going to lie… This wedding had all the girls in the office swooning. Stunning bride, handsome groom (in uniform no less!), a cool industrial chic venue and the oversized flowers of dreams!

Gorgeous bride Chloe married her new hubby Luke in December last year. The couple described their big day style as simple and classic, with an industrial edge. Their venue was just perfect for their metallics and monochrome colour scheme and I love the hint of marble!

Although Chloe was a little concerned about the prospect of dress shopping, I’m pleased to say she had nothing to worry about!

“Halfpenny was the only dress shop I visited! I first saw Halfpenny London at the Most Curious Wedding Fair at the Truman Brewery in 2017 & fell in love with a dreamy sequin skirt. I started following Halfpenny on Instagram after that & the obsession grew from there! I knew Halfpenny was very me so was never really interested in looking elsewhere!

My first appointment was so special! I took my Mom & two bridesmaids, my sister & sister in law, along. I am very particular so was prepared for this to be the most stressful shopping experience of my life, but it was far from it!”

Chloe chose the Willow dress which suited her and the style of her big day perfectly.

“Although I loved the sequin skirt I spotted at the wedding fare, after months of stalking the Halfpenny Instagram, it was the Andrea silk crepe skirt & Laura drape top I had set my heart on - although I did have quite a few screenshots of the back of the Willow that I just couldn’t stop looking at. I tried the Willow on first & got THE FEELING straight away! That threw me completely as I was convinced I would go for the skirt & top combination. After trying on a few picks from my mom & bridesmaids, along with pretty much every skirt & top in the store (everything was just so beautiful), my mind just kept going back to the Willow!  I loved how different the dress was to anything I had ever seen before (still to this day I have never seen anything quite like it!) & the back of the dress was just so spectacular!

Thank you so much to Chloe for the kind words and also to Luke for sharing these gorgeous images with us! We’re so pleased to have played a small part in your big day and wish you every happiness in your lives together!

Gorgeous Ruth | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny2 Comments

Beautiful bride Ruth and her gorgeous hubby tied the knot in September last year. Inspired by her Spanish heritage, Ruth captured the magic of the Andalusian countryside for her big day.

“It was authentic and rural with wild flowers and olive leaves everywhere. In the chapel, I tried to re-create the wedding scene from Baz luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet with candles everywhere.”

Ruth chose our Sarah dress as she was looking for something elegant and classic.

“Halfpenny was the only dress shop I visited, and it was the second dress I ever tried on. My stylist quickly picked out about 5 dresses and her enthusiastic energy instantly made me feel at ease. I was a bit anxious but within 10 mins I got into it and felt amazing when I left. The boutique is pretty and cozy inside. I chose the Sarah dress because I wanted something very simple – that would just fall off my frame. I felt like a movie star in it. From the moment I put that dress on, I knew it was the one. My mum’s eyes started watering and I felt gorgeous in it. I felt on a natural high and could imagine walking down the aisle in it.”

Thank you for sharing your gorgeous images with us Ruth! You looked wonderful and we wish you and your hubby all the very best in your new lives together.

Beautiful Dorothée | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Our beautiful bride Dorothée tied the knot with the love of her life last summer in a gorgeous seaside wedding in south Bretagne, France.

Dorothée found her Halfpenny gown at out mega stockist in Paris, Metal Flaque. She saw the Jessica dress online and it was love at first sight… After being stressed she wouldn’t love it as much when she tried it, she tracked it down at Metal Flaque and luckily fell in love with it in person too!

Congratulations to you and your gorgeous hubby Dorothée! We wish you every happiness in your new lives together.

Beautiful Harriet | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny2 Comments

Beautiful bride Harriet married her lovely hubby Drew in December last year. As the couple were getting married on Dartmoor National Park in the depths of winter, they decided to embrace the elements with a dark green colour scheme, a dress that would sway in the wind and lots of gorgeous winter flowers.

Harriet wore separates over an Iris slip to create her own unique look and we had so much fun during the appointment putting it together!

“I was very lucky and found my dream dress at Halfpenny London very quickly – it was the second (and last) dress shop I visited.  I had a particular style I was looking for which naturally narrowed down the designers I visited. Kate was amazing! Throughout the fitting it became apparent that there were certain elements of different dresses I loved. Kate threw the various items together and suggested a sash. As soon as I stepped out in the dress, I knew it was the one! I knew because of the way I felt in it – I felt like a princess and the prettiest I had ever looked. Also the look on my sister’s face gave away that it was the one!”

By combining the Iris Jacket and slip with a tulle skirt and Duchess satin sash, Harriet was able to experiment with combinations throughout the day.  The Iris Jacket has such exquisite detail and allowed Harriet to show off her back whilst still giving the appropriate amount of coverage for a church wedding and I love how she wore the Iris slip and sash for dancing in the evening!

Thank you to Harriet and Drew for sharing these stunning pictures with us. It’s always an incredible moment seeing how a couple’s vision comes together on their big day. Huge congratulations to the happy couple and we wish you all the love in the world!

Stunning Hannah | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Hannah married her beau in October last year. The couple tied the knot in the Catskills in upstate New York in a pair of beautiful, restored barns. The ceremony and cocktail hour were outside, set against the stunning foliage that the area is known for in October, letting the beautiful natural setting be the main focus.

Hannah chose the Daffodil top and Ivy skirt which she purchased from our lovely stockist, The One Bridal Boutique in NYC.

“I had been to a few appointments before but hadn’t found any dress that I was in love with. My sister in law actually found Halfpenny on Instagram and sent me a photo of a dress noting there was a boutique in NYC that carried the brand. I called Sue at The One without realising she wasn’t even open yet, and she let me come in and try the dresses on. I was her very first customer!

I chose the Daffodil top and Ivy skirt. I wanted a unique dress that also had a beautiful and classic silhouette and the pairing of these together was the perfect combination. I loved the shape and how comfortable the two pieces were together. The fringe brought a more relaxed, fun and whimsical element to the dress, given the rustic setting of the wedding I didn’t want anything too stuffy or rigid in material and style.“

I’m completely in love with Hannah’s entire wedding! Everything from the autumnal flowers to her burgundy velvet Aquazzura pumps. Delicious!

Congratulations to the happy couple and we wish you every happiness in your new adventures!

Beautiful Amy | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Amy and her lovely hubby tied the knot in a cosy and rustic countryside festival wedding full of personality and gorgeous Scottish touches.

“My husband is Scottish so we definitely wanted the wedding to include some of his Scottish traditions. But mainly, with it being a summer wedding and what with us both coming from very creative families, we wanted a very relaxed, rustic, country, festival theme.”

Amy found her Halfpenny London gown at one of our mega stockists. She decided on a Violet lace dress with a custom ivory silk slip.

“I have always loved Halfpenny dresses. Innovative, stylish, feminine and effortlessly chic, natural looking and oh so pretty. I have always loved lace and in my opinion, Halfpenny is the land of lace! I loved the idea of the layering that came with The Violet dress, the low back and the sweeping and feminine neckline. The train was also lovely and not too high maintenance for a grassy/summer wedding.

As soon as I saw the Violet, I never went back. it was everything I had dreamed for in one dress and to have my own custom silk slip underneath made it extra special. I looked in the mirror and felt luminous. Once I put it on, I could not imagine wearing anything else and I immediately felt like me on my best day. I could also move in it which was very important for me as I would have hated to have felt uncomfortable, like I could not move freely on the big day!”

I’m so in love with Amy’s choice of bouquet and her exquisite, bespoke engagement ring with it’s stunning emerald stone influenced her choice of accessories.

Massive congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you all the love in the world in your new lives together.

Gorgeous Anna | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Anna and her new hubby tied the knot in December last year. Their big day was a relaxed, countryside celebration surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Being a wedding planner herself, Anna has seen lots and lots of wedding dresses so she wanted something completely different that she really felt like herself in, eventually deciding to go with our sequinned Celine skirt, Oliver corset and Toby top.

“Susie was so lovely and made everyone feel so relaxed. She ‘got’ my style almost instantly and was so great and bringing out different combinations for me to try that she thought I’d love. My best friend pointed out the Celine skirt and I really wasn’t sure before I tried it on. But the second it was on I fell in love – it was so beautiful and so elegant – exactly what I wanted. We tried a few versions of the corset top before I got the right one but the team were so great at altering and trying different things!  I just knew [it was ‘the one’]! It was simple, elegant, not too ‘weddingy’ and felt so me.”

I’m absolutely thrilled Anna found her dream dress at Halfpenny London. Huge congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you every happiness in your new adventures together.

Stunning Stacey | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate Halfpenny2 Comments

Beautiful bride Stacey and her gorgeous hubby tied the knot in August lat year in a classic, romantic wedding with a gorgeous blush colour scheme. Stacey had tried some dresses before coming to visit us but struggled to find exactly what she was looking for.

“Before visiting Halfpenny London, I visited two boutiques and tried on some beautiful dresses, but I didn’t ‘feel’ like me. I struggled to find something that was ‘classic’ but not boring, subtly sexy and still appropriate for a Catholic church wedding. The [Halfpenny London] boutique has a wonderful warm and cosy feel that puts you at ease the moment you step in the door. I felt like a little girl again playing dress up. I wanted to try on every dress in there and I still do!”

Stacey chose our Charlotte dress which was the perfect choice for her.

“I wanted a dress that was romantic, effortlessly elegant but still ‘cool’. The luxurious Italian silk draped so beautifully; it was dramatic without being too ‘fussy’. As soon as I tried it on I felt an emotional connection with the dress. I finally felt like a bride and I knew it was a dress that Giuseppe, my husband-to-be, would instantly recognise me in. The Charlotte dress doesn’t need any ‘bling’, but I did accessorise it with a cathedral length ‘blended’ veil (also form Halfpenny), the most comfortable Jimmy Choo shoes, a tiara from Dolecka and jewellery from my aunt as my ‘something borrowed’.”

Congratulations to the happy couple! Best wishes in your new lives together from all of us at Halfpenny London.

Beautiful Emma | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Emma and her lovely hubby tied the knot last August in a relaxed, yet glamorous city wedding. Their ceremony was at Leicester Cathedral followed by a short walk through the city to a Victorian pub, King Richard III. Their reception was very laid back and felt like a wonderful party! The couple treated their guests to homemade sloe gin favours and bespoke cocktails.

A self-confessed perfectionist, Emma worried finding her dream dress would be tricky. Esme was one of the first dresses she tired and, although she loved it, she felt like it had been too easy! She kept looking and eventually decided to go back and try it on again. Once she did, she knew it was the perfect dress for her. She cancelled the rest of her appointments and bought the dress there and then. I’m so glad because she looks incredible in it and I honestly can’t imagine her in anything else.

Emma accessorised her dress with a silk sash tied round her waist in a bow and a barely-there, cathedral length veil. Her gorgeous earrings are by Tilly Thomas lux and her statement lip is to die for!

Congratulations to the happy couple. I wish you every happiness in your new lives together.

Gorgeous Lizzi | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Our beautiful bride Lizzi married her gorgeous hubby in a relaxed autumnal ceremony. The couple love the light at the end of October and made the gorgeous changing colours of the trees part of their decor.

Lizzi makes a great point about that pressure some brides-to-be feel about their wedding. It doesn’t have to be like that! your wedding should be a celebration of the love you and your partner share rather than a performance. I’m so glad we were able to turn that around for her…

“My first dress shopping experiences scared me! The pressure that some people put on you that this is your special day and everyone will be staring at you and the dress terrified me. However, I decided to visit the Halfpenny boutique and it was such an amazing experience. To be welcomed with a glass of fizz when we arrived was just perfect! There was such an incredible selection of dresses to choose from but I knew exactly the one I wanted to go with. The store is gorgeous and I instantly felt special walking in to it!”

Lizzi chose our Jessica dress and it looked incredible on her!

“I just loved the way it fell on me, it was very relaxed and flattering. I loved the shape of the slip and the weight of the fabric. It had the perfect trail behind too. I loved how modern the dress was but it had such a traditional feel to it through the lace. I knew this was the dream dress as I felt myself in it. I felt so comfortable. It had the relaxed boho vibe that I wanted but still felt like the bride. It was perfect!”

I couldn’t agree more.

The couple chose to include a lot of foliage and greenery in their florals, alongside thistles, white roses and dark anemones. A beautiful touch was that they included some rosemary in there too, to represent anyone who couldn’t be with the, on the day.

Thank you to the wonderful couple for sharing these beautiful images with us and we wish you both every happiness in your new adventures together.

Stunning Katherine | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Happy new year! I hope you had a lovely festive season, whatever you got up to.

We’re kicking off 2019 with beautiful bride Katherine’s destination wedding. Katherine married her new hubby in September last year in a laid back, modern Greek wedding on the island of Paros where her family have a summer house. Every element of this beautiful wedding was sourced from the island. The couple didn’t have a specific theme, instead, they decided to keep everything natural and make use of the simple beauty of the island.

“I had been to a few shops before going to Halfpenny - I was actually not far from getting a dress from Israel, which was a crazy idea mostly because the dress was just not right. I’d also been to some places in London but I never found anything that had quite the interesting and unusual designs and fabrics that make Halfpenny dresses so special. I also felt that a lot of the other dresses I found didn’t reflect my style or personality. At Halfpenny there are ideas and combinations that you didn’t even know existed and nothing is too difficult for them. I love the vintage feeling of some elements but the modernity and beautiful cuts of their dresses.

I was struggling to find something that I loved before going to Halfpenny but I knew that Fern was for me the second I tried it on. I’d walked past and admired the store for so many years (I studied at UCL for 8) and I knew that when I got married I would have to finally go inside! The whole experience was just amazing, every single time I visited - that’s probably why I kept going back. Every person who works there is so responsive and so helpful and I never felt pressured into making decisions. Kate was the best, I met her at an appointment when I was getting so confused but she was so supportive and calming and knew exactly what to do to reassure me. Sally was also amazing throughout the whole process, everyone was so accommodating and friendly and helpful, I loved everything about it and was made to feel like everyone really cared about me having the perfect wedding in the perfect dress.

I have recommended Halfpenny to every person I know who’s getting married and just wish I could do it all over again to go back and try everything on for the umpteenth time!”

Katherine chose the Fern dress and it was indeed the perfect dress for her.

“The Fern dress felt so right and so French and was just the most elegant, simple but gorgeous dress. I had seen it online and although I loved it in photos I think it looked and felt even better on! Some people might see it as a simple piece but I think it’s timeless and so classy. I’ve also had so many comments from people about how much they love the dress! It just felt so right and I felt so comfortable - I knew I had to get it. Also everyone who has seen it on has agreed it was the right one for me, including everyone at Halfpenny!”

Katherine wore her gown for the couple’s registration at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London and then again on Paros. She accessorised it with a gold necklace from West Bengal where her hubby is originally from - a lovely touch. In Greece, she kept it simple with a pair of pearl earrings.

Huge congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you so much for sharing your stunning pictures with us. The couple’s wedding photography was a gift from their dear friend Rajee Sukumaran.

We wish you every happiness in your new lives together!

Lots of love,

Kate & the Halfpennys xxx

Gorgeous Rosalind | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Rosalind married her wonderful hubby Jake in a super fun, relaxed wedding at Jake’s house in Ireland. I’m so in love with these images by photographer James Frost. Look at that coastline!

“I went to one very traditional bridal shop and knew it wasn’t for me. But it was a good experience to have, when I found Halfpenny I knew I would find the perfect one! It was a lovely experience, it was a breath of fresh air walking into the boutique. Sally was getting as excited as me about different combinations of pieces. It was incredible to see all the beautiful fabrics and textures of all the dresses. We felt so relaxed and welcome, I didn’t want to leave! I always saw wedding dresses as a uniform, which I never wanted to wear. The brides personality just doesn't show with so many dress, but at Halfpenny the dresses had so much personality and were so individual, I really felt like myself when wearing them.”

Rosalind chose a modified version of our Breeze dress for her big day, choosing to add straps.

“It was a really hard choice, and I’m even now still thinking about some of the other options, but I ended up choosing the Breeze dress. It was my second or third appointment and I was with my Mum. She cried when I put that one on, and had not done that with any others. It was the original dress I had seen when first finding Halfpenny online so the reason I booked an appointment. Although I absolutely loved the other separate pieces and I never ever would have thought I would go for a big train or dress at all, but when I put it on, I knew this would be the only time I would wear it, so why not go big! And it was so swooshy! The dress was fun, the fabric was so gorgeous and sumptuous, and most importantly it had pockets! As we were having an outdoor wedding I loved that it was shorter at the front, it was so easy to walk in on the grass, and I knew I would be able to dance in it… and oh did I dance a lot!”

Thank you for allowing us to play a part in your big day Rosalind! Wishing you and Jake every happiness in the world in your new lives together.

Beautiful Nic | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Our gorgeous bride Nic and her lovely hubby Olly tied the knot in September this year in a stunning church ceremony. The couple wanted the wedding to be a real reflection of both their personalities and I think they’ve succeeded spectacularly.

“Our main aim for the wedding was to be a reflection of us both, so in some respects the styling of the wedding was a bit of a mix-match, but this reflects my own personal style in fashion and interior style too. Our home is a mix-match of colour, textures, patterns and style so I didn't have strict rules about everything matching for the wedding, I have a good eye for putting different things together and knowing they will work together in the end.”

Nic chose our Daffodil Top, and Ivy Skirt for her big day and she is a Halfpenny bride through and through!

“I was both excited and super nervous about finding THE dress. I love fashion, I'm really particular about my own style, and with doing a lot of styling for my job, I knew the pressure was on to find something amazing and maybe unexpected! I bought my dress form The White Room Bridal in Sheffield. They love the Kate Halfpenny dresses there, they were so knowledgeable about the brand that it felt like I was getting the full Halfpenny experience.”

“I never expect to end up with a top and skirt but I loved the end look. The dress was so comfy, so stylish and so unusual. It ticked every box for me. I actually saw a photo of my dress on Instagram and I had a really strong feeling that would be the one, and it was love at first sight. I adored it on the hanger and even more so when I tried it on."

I love Nic’s choice of paired back colour scheme and that amazing bouquet! Receiving my brides’ wedding pictures never fails to thrill me and this wedding was just so special.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you every happiness in your new adventures together!

Beautiful Jackie | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

“I wanted a dress that was simple yet fashionable, and appropriate for the venue. After going to 8 or 9 appointments and not loving anything, I went on my own to Halfpenny London, on my friend Jamie’s recommendation. The minute I walked into the beautiful, vintage inspired showroom I knew that’s where I’d find it. I chose a Custom Clemence gown, which I saw in a blush colour practically growing off the rack with its floral appliqués. I had it made in ivory as it better suited my skin tone and the venue. I wore it with a simple long veil, also from Halfpenny. Kate is so talented and her team was such a pleasure to work with!”

Beautiful Ashley | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Ashley and her lovely new hubby tied the knot in June this year with a lush, summery party surrounded by all of their favourite people. Described as a ‘Frida Kahlo garden party with an indie disco’ this wedding sounds right up my street! It was full of greenery, sangria, cocktails, piñata-hitting in place of cake cutting and lots of dancing!

“Halfpenny was recommended by a friend, but I had already seen Kate’s designs and adored how modern yet timeless they were. I had seen dresses at a show as well, and they were absolutely unique. The shop did not disappoint, with an intimate boutique feel; the staff treat each appointment very privately and personally. I actually had a few appointments since I was buying separate pieces, and the team were brilliant at giving advice, applying no pressure to the process, and clearly knowing their way around the dresses themselves – understanding the make, patterns and fits. The entire process was really dreamy and I would recommend [the Halfpenny] team just as fast as I’d recommend the beautiful dresses.”

Ashley chose our Palm skirt and Laura top for the ceremony and changed into a cami for the evening.

“I never thought I would go with anything two-piece, and always thought I wanted lace sleeves, but I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the laser-cut palm skirt was. I knew I wanted the Laura top from the first time I saw it. It is so unique, and an ultra elegant touch to top off a skirt that was a bit more fun. I loved the way it fell, and the way it came together with the top, it just felt right for me. I can’t wait to wear that again with some tuxedo trousers. I loved so many of the pieces at Halfpenny, and would have gotten two or three if I could have!”

Ashley looks incredible on her big day and I love the flower crown! The colourful blooms by Moss & Stone in Suffolk are perfect and I just adore these gorgeous pictures by The Smiths Photography. They capture the sheer joy and love of the day.

Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! We wish you every happiness in your new adventures together.

Stunning Jessica | A real Halfpenny London bride

Kate HalfpennyComment

Beautiful bride Jess married her handsome hubby Greg this summer in a chic, city celebration in their home town of Leicester.

Jess chose the Vera Frill dress for her big day and can we all just take a second to appreciate how amazing she looks? Jess had always dreamed of wearing a Halfpenny dress so was delighted when she visited a stockist and found the perfect one.

“After trying on a few dresses by various designers, the assistant pulled out what she felt would suit me and my style best. Unbelievably it was a Halfpenny dress but I was already in love before she told me. I chose the Vera Frill dress… Well, I actually feel like it chose me! As soon as I slipped it on, I just knew and the reaction from my bridesmaids confirmed it straight away. It was only the third dress I had tried and, other than a few minor alterations to the length, it fit like a glove. I felt that it gave me the elegant but modern effortless look I wanted. As soon as I felt the beautiful silk crepe and the feel of the dress I knew it was the one! It was a feeling many of my friends who have been married had told me about but one I never thought would be real for me!”

Jess kept her accessories simple. Grey suede platform shoes with silver lightning bolts by Terry de Hallivand were the perfect choice and earrings, a necklace and an arm cuff from the wonderful Tilly Thomas Lux finished off the look. She also chose a large, luscious bouquet made up of foliage and white orchids, as those were the first flowers that the new hubby ever bought her. Such a thoughtful, special touch.

Huge congratulations to the newlyweds! Your happiness radiates through these lovely images by Ed Brown. Thank you so much for choosing Halfpenny and, Jess, we’re so pleased we were able to give you the dress of your dreams! Wishing you both every happiness in your new lives together.
