Stunning Freya | A Halfpenny London bride
Newlyweds Freya and Daniel celebrated their love this year in a luxurious, modern wedding with an elegant palette of white, dark green and black.
Freya had tried on several dresses in New York but none were striking the balance she was looking for, something elegant and timeless that she’d love forever, but with a twist.
“Taking cover from the London rain,” Freya said, “I went to Harrods to dry off and explore. I wasn’t looking for a dress! But then I saw it - the beautiful back and stunning silk. I had to try it on. Luckily, the gorgeous Fatma accommodated me, even though I didn’t have an appointment. Fatma also suggested styling the Cheryl dress with Christian Mikado skirt - which was the cherry on top.
I loved the elegance of Cheryl’s silk but also that it felt modern. It also had that twist (literally!) that I was looking for. It fitted me like a glove, straight off the hanger which I think helped. I wasn’t sure about the skirt initially - the dress was so beautiful on its own! But, I thought I would regret not taking the opportunity to wear something so voluminous and striking - and it really did make me feel like a princess.
It’s all about how the dress makes you feel. If you feel comfortable, you’ll be able to be your whole self and focus on all the beautiful people around you. This was really important to us in planning the day - making decisions that were true to us and we were truly comfortable with. The same went for the dress. If the dress isn’t making you feel good, that changes how you experience the day. For example I tried on a gorgeous dress that was ticking most of the boxes but the sleeve design meant I couldn’t raise my arms properly - I know I’d feel constricted. When I put the Halfpenny dress on, it made me feel like the best version of myself and I knew that’s how I would feel on the day.”
Freya accessorised her look with the Tunis Earrings from Jennifer Behr, and the Matrix Tennis Bracelet from Swarovski. Her something borrowed was a beautiful family veil. I’m completely in love with her look and honoured that she chose to wear Halfpenny London on her big day.
